11/12/08

there's this bluff half day field trip organised by my unit to visit the marina barrage in the morning.

a pic take from the roof

the model which explains how the whole thing works

the LOL pic. the sun is shining at our face, and Mr. Zhang is trying to tip toe to make himself as tall as me. and this is the final product...

-----

most of our platoon people travelled to plaza singapura for lunch, then some dota, arcade, walk around, and i watched 'the day the earth stood still' with kelvin, nat, jing hao, and edgar.

the day the earth stood still was first film in 1951, and this is the remake. the robot (gort) 's look was kept the same.
anyway, it's the same old thing. it sends the message, "mankind harms the earth, which will eventually cause destruction to it." i've watched quite a number of such movies in recent years.

i was told since young, "we, human, were given the ability and intelligence to rule over other animals and nature. we must be responsible."
"this is not your planet." is THE line in the movie. how ironic, when human kinda rules it and abuses it?

as we all know keanu reeve can't act well, and the character is supposed to be those 'expressionless' type, which just suits him. (remind me of jay chou and initial d)

in summary, it's not worthy to catch it in the cinema.

oath of renunciation, allegiance and loyalty

i've received the letter which i suppose to receive when i turn 21.

"according to our records, you're a minor citizen by descent/registration.

under the constitution of republic of singapore, you're required to take oath of the renunciation, allegiance and loyalty within 12 months on attaining the age of 21 years.

etc.."

i need to renounce my other citizenship which explain why i received 2 copies of the letter (in 1 mail).

1. British national overseas citizen
2. Hong Kong (SAR) citizen

Sunday 7 December 2008

06/12/08 - 07/12/08

i'm ill again, so i didn't go out with stella and ant.
-----

anyway, i watched sky crawler in plaza singapura with kelvin and akira. the storyline is kinda... not exciting? i don't know how should i describe it, but the battle scene is well done. in fact, it's quite funny, you can hear everyone is laughing.

before we leave, i bought a PS3 game, valkyria chronicle, which is sold out in all the shops that i went to look for it.

i then walked to elizabeth hotel to watch arsenal vs wigan, and the home side won 1-0. arsenal's performance is poor and they should feel lucky because opponent's is poorer.

some recent happenings

just a quick update...

firstly... i'm 21 now. lol..
and thank you to all those who bought me gifts!

P.S. miss stella, you still have not delivered the cake that you promise, and i'm waiting since last month. =)
-----

merrick and co. came over to my home on sunday for steamboat, it'll be almost perfect if meng siang and dawn can be there too. anyway, merrick is so cute with his long hair! and omg... his mother teaches him to call me uncle, but he calls me gor gor instead (only when i'm holding snacks like hello panda. lol.) he always sneaked into my room and slide open my cupboard to dig out 2 toy cars even i hide them back. the funny thing is that, he'll try to hide by sliding the door back.
-----

my parents are back after getting alittle stuck in thailand, and i shifted my ps3 back into my room for my pathetic tv. T_T
-----

my psp's LCD screen is spoilt!!!!!! the must have for stay in. amen...

fusion!

when i look at grubby and moon doing that for the steel series ad, i just can't stop laughing.

AFA 08 day 1 + 2

a must go anime festival asia 08!
luckily it's on my book out weekend (gonna spend my leave if even it's not)

day 1:
i reached there at 12.30pm then meet up with akira and walk around... (he went in the morning). i've pre-registered ticket online for both days but seems like it only applies to the big crowd in the morning as the queue is short and fast. so they just issued tickets normally.
the booths are disappointing, or maybe i expected much better stuff. there're figurines and art piece display, there's a nice booth with original shonen jump drawings. the colouring is nice. there're many booths selling their own products, and a corner with arcade combat games competition (KOF, SF, TEKKEN). nothing much...
the pink tranlucent exclusive gundam exia is sold out when i reached. disappointed*
luckily there's still the 1/144 translucent exia to compensate, akira bought one too. we met up with kelvin for lunch in NYDC later on.
akira and i waited and watched mizuki ichirou concert at 1915. ANIKI! ANIKI! ANIKI! many crazy fans... tiring day. stella and julian stayed over at my home to watch football and played ps3.

day 2:
woke up at 1330. lol...
went down to suntec again, and again with akira to walk around more. but i kinda missed the cosplay competition which was at 1330. =(
anyway... the big thing of AFA08 is that may'n is performing live!! the singer who sang as sheryl nome in macross frontier. the crowd is even more than ichirou's concert as expected. she sang 7 songs in a row without much stop between each song, and her voice is great even in live. i didn't pay $100+ to be the diamond vip of the concert, who can go up stage to have a handshake and autograph.

-----
some photos i took with my iphone which doesn't have zoom and light adjustment. =(

i didn't take much pic for figurines as my camera is not good enough with them under the light and protection glass.

i think their costumes are very well done.

zero i took a pic with C.C. on saturdayanother pic with another C.C. on sunday

maybe she shouldn't sit down with her white costume.

picture with ranka and alto

oops... i asked a cute mm to take a pic with me. meow~

characters from macross frontier

ichirou concert

may'n concert

the iconic photo! someone who cosplayed as ranka went up stage to collect autograph from may'n

legendary gundam cosplay, alot of effort... with the eyes glowing.

dismantled gundam costume reminds me of self destruct in gundam wing. lol

call of duty: world at war

i've been playing it online on my ps3. it's very addictive...
when someone gets a killing streak, they can call out the dogs to attack the opponents (homing) and omg.. i hate those dogs!! they are just imba!
people shout over the speaker: "fuck! damn those dogs!"
it's really irritating when u've like 3-4 of them coming to you in different directions.

2 days mc

i woke up this morning with fever and sore throat, and my temperature is 39.3.
i was given green light to report sick outside.

this is the first time i'm sick after i shifted to yew tee, so i just entered a random clinic in limbang. the clinic name is JO-LIN. lol

and.. it sucks..

firstly, i was not asked for IC to verify the particulars that i've given (first visit)

secondly, the doctor didn't ask me about family medical history or even my own, which is very common for first timer.

thirdly, she just rushed through everything. as i said i've fever, cough, sore throat and running nose, so she did all those normal checks.
1. ask me how long had i have these, and i answer accordingly.
2. tell me to open my mouth and use a wooden stick + torch to check my throat. before i open my mouth big enough, just remove the stick and off the torch, "throat infection" she didn't really have a proper look.
3. put the thermometer in my ear. she just pressed the button and remove it when the tip just touches my ear slightly. "oh... 36. no fever." (of course no fever when u don't insert it properly into the ear. -_-)
4. she placed the statoscope to another spot when i've not even breathe in and out on the earlier one. she just tap it around my chest and the back.
5. but the mc part is not as fuck up
"i'll give u 1 day mc, how old r u?"
"20"
"ns?"
"yes"
"ok, do u want more days on mc?"
i gave a sian look*
"2 then, so u can rest at home"

new toy

and the new toy is...... PS3.
finally bring it home after some comparison with xbox 360.

bought 3 games,
eternal sonata (RPG)
PES 2009 (football)
initial d extreme stage (racing)

go home staight to try it out, i'm just to eager to play it. >_<
sg went down with me to funz, and he carried it home for me! (go home by car though)
anyway, we just rush to my room, open it out and read the menu, but it's just 2 wires (same as PS2). we looked like 2 kids enjoying a boxing day. lol.

when i just connected everything to my TV, stella and julian were at the door with mac delivery. and omg... she screamed damn loud when she play PES. -__-

next to buy:
monitor and speaker

Sunday 9 November 2008

9 days in camp

gonna stay in camp for 9 days, and i'm preparing it by transfering videos into my psp. the only person that can console me is maki, so i put teppan shojo akane in my psp.

-----

anyway, i've bought a carpet and a CD player.
as for the CD player, it can be used as DVD player which is now connected to my TV.
gonna buy a PS3 when i book out~

i went down to elizabeth to watch arsenal vs manchester united at night!
the gunners didn't let me down, a 2-1 victory at home, and i can book in without those ass's nonsense.

Wednesday 5 November 2008

and i've a list of things to buy:

1. PS3
2. PC monitor
3. PC speaker
4. carpet
5. clock
6. CD player with radio

-----

1. i was considerng between PS3 and xbox
2. very monitor, and it has scratches on it plus some occasional pink screen
3. together with monitor, and it went silent just now
4. prevent my chair (wih wheels)from scratching my floor
5. i hate my alarm clocks, and i want a disply clock
6. i don't really download songs

Monday 3 November 2008

shift home

actually i've been packing for a month (remember that i've little book out time, and probably some lack of discipline)

step 1:
pack some stuff into boxes and luggages

step 2:
load them to the car (i need to walk the stairs to the lift)

step 3:
drive to the new place and unload

step 4:
carry them to the new place and unpack

step 5:
reuse those boxes and luggages for the next wave

after repeating these steps for around 30 times? it's torturing, and with my back injury, it gets worse.
the mover shifted those sofa, and those big and heavy stuffs on the 30th in 1 wave.
the question is... why don't just pay them for another wave? which i think it is equal to 15x of our own step 1 to 5.

the movers

just the manga alone can kill.

the unpacking is another bitch. -_-
i had 1x hour of sleep after the bbq and dota, then 16 hours of packing, carrying, unpacking. shag... and book in in the morning.

platoon bbq

29/10/08

i heard so much about eugene's house (the driver that has a driver wait for him outside camp), and i finally had the chance to see it.

and... holyshit! i didn't know singapore have such place.

when i alight from the cab, the gate is opened. a big gate.
i walked up the slope and reached the entrance with a round about, garage and stuff. 2 maids were waving at me to welcome me. just the area out there is a X times of my home. lol.. i know it's quite unbelievable. when i walked into the living room, the gang was playing wii, rock band. 3x guitars, 1x drum set. 1x mic (maybe more hiding somewhere, lol)

and we bbq at one 'small' corner of his home

just when i wonder why is the living so small, as well as the TV. there is another main part of the living room, with a fountain. -__-
the day before i was told to bring coins, and it was actually to throw in and pray. amen.. ~_~

her sister helped us to take a group pic, and she's quite good looking.
someone: "guys, please look at the camera... the camera..."

10 of us travelled to town to dota, and i reached home at 0300 on 301008. bathed and watched arsenal vs tottenham live. and yes... i'm very disappointed with the game result, and the manu fans in camp will always add salt to it.

sleep for an hour and a half to shift things to new home.

last weekend

i've a busy month, shifting home and stuff.

just do some update... in separate posts~

25/10/08
i went to sentosa with nat n co in the afternoon, and it was almost a perfect day. because merrick is not going~ his mummy and him are sick, as well as kai shi.

i can't remember when did i last went to a beach... and thank god the weather is good. played some beach football, look at bikini babes (didn't see any except a hot mummy in bikini with 2 kids) and i wet my whole shorts, well... because i went into the water.

after washing up and some food, we played the LUGE, a skateboard thingy that you sit on it and slide down the slope. it's quite fun but just too short... below is michelle acting cute when we're waiting for our turn.

LUGE and skyride is in a package, we slide down the hill with LUGE, we went back up with skyride. and i was quite worried that i may drop my slippers. and i took a pic with the risk of saying bye to my iphone.

i left early for shuyu's birthday bbq, which is just downstairs of my new home. but i've not shifted in then though. maybe i can book one next time, seems very convenient.

a pic of her dog. lol..

Thursday 23 October 2008

too many things too little time

i've been busy packing my stuff for shifting recently (not that busy actually), when i book out. schedule is quite packed, because the final move is on 30th oct. it hurts my back when i carry slightly heavy stuff, it makes me feel so handicap. old man.

anyway... this weekend is my bookout week.

planned schedule:
-saturday-
morning - late afternoon: sentosa with natalie and co.
evening - night: shuyu's birthday bbq in yew tee.
night - midnight: watch football in elizabeth with stella.

-sunday-
morning - afternoon: final packing of stuff
afternoon: xbox fair in suntec with kelvin

BUT!!!!!
i've news today that, i may need to go back on the weekend!
!@#$%
around 10 people need to go back to do some stuff.
by logic, i shouldn't be going back.
by luck, i don't even wanna think of it.
it'll be super depressing if i need to go back camp. (reminder, i book out for one weekend in every 2 weeks.)

(recently, dota with platoon mates every book out night)

Saturday 18 October 2008

I m blogging on my bed with my iPhone now, and so lazy to get up. I just surf the net when I woke up, and I'm still lying under my blanket. Technology makes me more n more lazy. Gonna continue to pack my stuff later, hai... The agony of shifting ^._.^

P.S. i book leave again. lol...
-----

Sunday 12 October 2008

black x white

i will spend less time on warcraft III (i don't exactly spend alot of time on it anyway), and spend more time on weiqi. created a new acount and gonna climb my way up.

currently the first world mind sports game is ongoing in china, it's a board game olympic. more information here.

古力 represented all players during the opening

古力 (china) vs 康老师 (singapore)

zhang xiang (my platoon mate) can't go for this great event because of leave matters in ns, and i really feel upset for him.

while hansiong and kaiwen suppose to play for the pair event, but kaiwen is too sick to go there. so hansiong won't be able to play too.

再次回到黑白世界...

emo

i just can't stop thinking of her.

Macross Frontier

i've spent the last duty to catch up with my anime, and completed macross frontier.

the original macross series was back in 1982, and frontier is to celebrate its 25th anniversary. the show is about a big alien ship crashed onto earth, and human rebuilt it into SDF-1 (super dimension fortress)aka macross. a city is built around it, called macross city, and the ship was prepared to seek out alien cultures and seek peace. however, it later engaged into a war with a giant alien race, zentradi. singing is a big part of the series, it brings peace between to 2 races. and many nice songs are created from macross. =D
and not to forget the triangular love between the main characters.

i'm sure many of you remember the VF you see in childhood time, the half man-form fighter plane.

this is the last battle in the last episode of macross frontier, they replay alot of songs that are played throughout the series. the graphic of the whole series is quite good, although the below youtube video is not clear. and the song that is playing in my blog is also in macross frontier.

Monday 6 October 2008

happy birthday to my darling

today is horikita maki's 20th birthday.

(this is taken on her 19th birthday)
