the letter i've been waiting for has arrived at last.
defer my 1st sem to 22 feb 10, and complete in 01 jul 11. (credit for 24/48)

one less thing to worry about.

weekly yugioh tournament 210309

nothing to blog recently, so just gonna write something about the weekly tourney.

deck used: beast synchro

swiss 1: emperor [XOO]

get rushed in round 1 because didn't know it's emperor, 3400 from dark emperor. then 2400 from ice emperor and end with DAD.

won both round 2 and 3 by controlling the game, x-saber drop hand, arcanite earn field.

swiss 2: bf [OXX]

force icarus, and some card advantage trade then control and win the game.

2x whirlwind is too strong, but i slowly earn back the cards with tidal wave and mirror force. he has 4 hands, i know 1 is north pole and 1 is moonlight. i coldwave then reverse summon koala, rescue cat for x-saber and black panther. copy gale half 1 of his bird, then use koala effect on the other. so x-saber direct, drop north pole. so i synchro for colossal. not scare of his moonlight. but he has another north pole, so north pole --> brionac. bounce colossal. with his whirlwind there, i lose the round. 3rd round is like youtube video match. i go 1st, cover tidal wave and done. he heavy storm, then whirlwind. normal summon then search for moonlight. s.summon 2 more bf. otk me. lol... (pump attack with moonlight then dark dive)

swiss 3: heros? [OO]
i pity him, because he needs to explain every card to me. nothing much to talk about.

quarterfinal: bf [OO]

win 1st game with 3x arcanite magician and also x-saber drop hand. too big of card advantage even though he has 2x whirlwind.

almost died in 2nd game... he has moonlight, gale and azure flame on field. i've black panther, coldwave, book of moon, pot of avarice, cyclone. TRANS-AM! summon black panther copy azure's effect, book of moon on gale and kill it. use black panther's effect (azure), add gale from deck to my hand then s.summon it. use gale's effect to half his azure's attack then synchro for goyou. win since he can't kill goyou after that.

semifinal: beast synchro (banana) [XOX]

his opening is cat --> x-saber + koala --> natural beast, then set a m/t card.

lol... god opening in BS mirror. natural beast with a trap. so i cat --> x-saber + panther --> brionac and bounce natural beast to attack. then set a card too. he activates his set card, coldwave! omg... then summon priest stunts and control me. very daring, if i cat for natural beast, he discards a card and need to face natural beast. or i also can cat for goyou and take his natural beast. he can't use coldwave, so even summon priest also can't clear my board with my trap behind. quote from mog, "幸福是要自己争取的!" but well played by banana.

nothing much in 2nd round, we both have gorz on field and both tokens are 1600. my bottomless traphole was waiting for him to rescue cat and stuck there. then turn it around with mirror force and mirror of curse word.

3rd round is helpless, again he has the natural beast opening. and i've 5 magic + 1 tragodia.

s.summon my tragodia. then when i attack natural beast with it, he uses prohibited chalice on it. lol... the game ended after i drew 2 more magic.

take nothing physically away from the tournament. =(

met my targets though...

1. don't die too badly

2. play at least 1 mirror match

3. keep a good win rate against bf (the otk is helpless)

yugioh-ing

just a quick update...
recently, i've been active in the game again.
after the crazy otk period...

now i'm playing beast synchro, although many call it the acanite beat (AKB).
but AKB is just a variation of beast synchro.
some japanese players really love the violent side beast synchro, and also many with different mechanics. mine is closer to the control side.

now the deck to beat is BF (black feather/black wing), or you may wanna include beast synchro.
i've played some games against BF and GB, and i think the win rate is ok. there're some silly mistakes, and bad timing. but improving as i play more. GB aside, as it's kinda rare now. i think AKB vs BF is still quite ok, not one sided.

now i'm constantly tuning the deck, almost everyday. -_-

and oh yeah, i forget to mention, there's a card shop just 3 min walk from my home, across the street. lol... i'll check the shop out everytime when i go out and go home. no more "oh no, u came too late. someone bought them ytd."

91 days to ORD

yes, it's 91 days to ORD (banana man, please don't comment on this. -_-)
but the concern now is not ORD, but whether i can defer my study in UQ.

i get alittle agitated by the agents from IDP, and so i made a phone call straight to UQ.
in the end, the answer is the same...
"wait for your offer letter."
and i've been waiting for quite sometime. impatience set in...

anyway, Mr banana man phoned me this morning at 0710. wake me up from my 1st sleep on my own bed after 7 days duty.
"can i wear T-shirt and jeans to book in?"
i was like 'wtf man...'
of course you can, and he later explains that he didn't know whether it has to be with a collar.
and then... "oh ok, because i'm going to collect my IC in tuas later. so are you going out later?"
now... he got to the point. 91 days to go... ZZzzzz

while i was surfing the net to update myself yesterday after detached from the world for 7 days, my mother came behind me and "i wanna knock your head..." in a joking tone.
"the tissue paper you threw into the bin stinks last week, i've gotten rid of them. next time please discard them somewhere else after you've done your stuff, they were still wet when i open the bin."

i was stunned for awhile.

when i finally comprehend what she said, i realise it was a misunderstanding. i wiped the instant noodle soup with those tissue paper the day before i book in.
