i phoned my secondary school tutor to meet her for dinner just now.
i've not seen her for 5 years, she didn't change much.
P.S. i'm taller than her now. =)

the funny thing is, today my father asked me about her out of no where, and i told him i'm meeting her. spent the whole afternoon shopping for lighting, gonna shift to yew tee soon. i'm a driver in camp, and i'm a driver outside camp too. -_-
another driver in my platoon, has a driver... serious~ he's that rich.

HK tcg players are "sick"

i was chatting with akira on msn about card sleeves just now, about japan has many companies producing nice deck sleeves.

it reminds me of 2 cases that i experienced in HK years ago,

case 1:

i went to a card shop and wanna buy a nice deck box. but my friend asked me to have tea break first. so when we're back, i asked the shop keeper for it.

mr. shopkeeper: "sold out. someone just bought a box."

me: "i saw alot of it on display jus now."

mr. shopkeeper: "yeah... he bought a box (a case of xN deck boxes)"

me: "huh?"

mr. shopkeeper: "i think he's cutting outside now."

i walked out, and i see someone cutting the deck boxes one by one. he wanna use the front picture of the deck box to put behind his deck sleeves as design. so yeah, a deck size of 40 cards for e.g. LOL? gg... but tmd, can't he spare me one. i also see people cut the divider of the deck box too.

i went to a card shop with players playing. i looked at their albums to buy cards, and one of the guy tells me cards from his deck are for sale too. and so he passed me his deck~

i looked through...

me: eeerm... all judgement? (the trap card with yuugi's face)

him: yeah, 40 of it.

me: wtf? 40 judgement in deck.

him: oh.. it's my deck sleeve

and i flip the deck over to continue... -_-

movie and shopping

watched pathology in cineleisure with li xin just now.
a bloody movie...

it's about a group of pathologists plays a game among themselves secretly. one will kill someone and hide the method used, while the other will do what a pathologist will do, find the truth. then, they'll just destroy the body and life goes on.

i'm very disappointed when i heard the news about liu xiang pulled out from the qualifier race in camp, and i was expecting him to run in thursday's hurdling final.

according to his coach, he pulled out of the tournament is because of his injury on his foot which he had even before the 2004 athen olympic, when he broke the world record and won his gold medal.

i just ate "sau tao brand's beef soup hor fan", aka cup noodle hor fan.
it's quite a famous brand in hk, but anyway...

2. open the packet seasonings and pour into the bowl
3. add hot water and wait for 3min

the taste is quite disappointing... quite plain.
as i'm finishing it, i touched something hard at the bottom. "beef?"
and it's orange, "omg colouring -_-"

i added in the soup powder, the dried vegetable, but not the sauce.
so... i dig it out and pour it in. it tastes marvelous!
but yeah, by then no more hor fan. so i just drink the soup. lol...

i stayed home unwillingly on my book out day, everyone else stays home to watch the women's table tennis team final.

one sided...
singapore has nothing to lose and a silver is considered a failure to china.

anyway...
something quite funny, the chinese crowd cheers for singapore.

i watched men's tennis single final, nadal is just unstoppable.

hopefully i can catch liu xiang in hurdling final on 21st. 中国必胜!

first game of the season

drop by elizabeth last night to watch arsenal vs west brom, the first game of the season. i reached jus on time to see the kick off, and the starting line up is quite unexpected.

CB-gallas (1st choice)
CB-djourou (toure is injured)
LB-clichy (1st choice)
RB-sagna (1st choice)
CM-denilson (probably the obvious choice to partner fabregas)
CM-eboue (the biggest shock of the night! i know fab is injured, but why not ramsey?)
LM-nasri (argubly 1st choice, and rosicky is injured)
RM-walcott (1st choice, i predict the right/left AM keep rotating)
CF-bendtner (either van persie or him, with eduardo injured and vela not ready)
CF-adebayor (1st choice, ade song: ADEBAYOR... ADEBAYOR... give him the ball~ and he'll score*)

overall performance is good, controlled the game through out and of course pocket all 3 points is the upmost important. anything less is unacceptable against a west brom at home.

the back line is rarely tested, clichy and sagna are very strong at the back as well. and of course their offensive abilities are probably best in the league, voted the best right/left back of last season.
adebayor is very hard working, trying to win over the fans' heart after the transfer saga.
nasri performed out of my expectation in his first epl game, scored in the 4th min. intelligence plays, gell with the team, hardworking enough to track back and win the ball. (someone called him nasi goreng in liz last night -_-)

eboue is at the top of critic for sure...
very poor... no matter where he plays, he's not doing well enough.

adebayor misses too many chances, and his decision trying get past defender in 82th min is the biggest mistake. nevertheless, you can tell he's transforming, drift to the left often and create chances. sound like theirry henry? his pace has improved, at one time when he dashes into a 1 on 1 situation with keeper, people shouted walcott. lol...

biggest event of 2008 is finally here!
i watched part of the opening ceremony in camp, and china didn't disappoint me.
excellent performance, and i stopped my monster hunting to watch it (yes, it's a big deal. the fact is i spent around 20 hours on it for last 72 hours)
as all of you know, i never counted myself as a singaporean, i felt proud and touch when li ning lighted up the torch.

the only 'not so nice' thing is when every countries' representatives walk in. it took 2 hrs, but necessary.
and then the next day is ndp08, what a comparison!

Figo’s Barça-Madrid Secret Revealed

(José Veiga, the former agent of Luis Figo, has exposed a startling fact behind the player’s hugely controversial move from Barcelona to arch nemesis, Real Madrid in 2000.)

Veiga, who is currently the chairman of English League One side, Swindon Town has revealed how former Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez managed to pull off one of the biggest shocks in transfer history by snapping up Luis Figo from Barcelona for €65 million.

Accoring to Sport, Veiga disclosed that he had signed a pre-agreement with Pérez, who was running against Lorenzo Sanz for the club’s presidency then, to bring Figo to the Bernabéu.

He then claimed that the main reason he signed the document was to pressure Barcelona into accepting a contract improvement for the player, in addition to pocketing a handsome €3 million in commission.

What Veiga didn’t know at the time – other than the fact that Lorenzo Sanz would lose the elections and hand the reigns over to Pérez – was that as per the signed agreement, there was a €30 million exit fee attached should Veiga or Figo himself break the contract to join Los Blancos.

With Veiga trapped between a rock and a hard place, Figo then asked the agent: “What do we do now?” to which Veiga replied, “There are three options. One, you remain at Barça and pay the €30 million which you do not have, two, you don’t pay them and I go to jail, or three, you go to Real Madrid.”

Veiga believes that it is a similar tactic that current president Ramón Calderón is using to snatch Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United; making the player sign a deal with Los Merengues that includes a penalty clause that could cost the Portuguese millions should he break his end of the deal.
